mum's lemon cordial
It’s my Mum’s Birthday tomorrow. This is her Lemon Cordial Recipe. We have drank this since she gave up on Tang in 1979. There are millions of lemons dangling ripe right now, ready to be turned into this delicious drink. If you don’t have a lemon tree, go ask a neighbour and share the spoils. Chin Chin x
mum's lemon cordial recipe
425ml Lemon Juice (Strained*)
1tsp Lemon Essence (easy to get in the baking aisle at Woolies)
Heat the sugar and water on stovetop until sugar has dissolved.
Cool, then add strained* lemon juice and lemon essence.
Decant into clean bottles and store in fridge for up to 10 days.
Serve with tap water if you’re thirsty, or sparkling mineral water if you’re feeling a bit fancy.
(*Straining the juice will prevent the cordial from going bitter)
